Raglan Surfing School is offering a NEW and Exciting opportunity to teachers and students to take a life enhancing educational program at …. THE BEACH !!! The program has been developed in conjunction with Water Safety New Zealand and Surfing New Zealand. Over 35 Schools and groups have chosen to have their Outdoor Programmes with the Raglan Surfing School.

Ocean Environment and Water Safety
• Introduction to basic lifesaving. Course instruction by Certified Raglan Lifesaving Club members. First Aid and CPR.
• Class topics included ocean conditions, tides, currents and waves.
• Learn about our environmental impact on the ocean. Preservation and Protection. Guest speakers available. Safety is #1.. We adhere to a strict safety and risk management plan.

Surfing
• Students are introduced to the sport of SURFING through a proven teaching program which combines classroom and beach instruction. Course is taught to each individuals level. Special needs children welcomed. Our enthusiastic staff are experienced local surfers trained as qualified lifeguards who are eager to share their knowledge.
• RSS provides all surfing equipment including specially crafted soft surfboards that are easy to learn on, while reducing the risk of injury. A full range of wetsuits will keep the students warm year round.
• Surfboard maintenance and repair. Factory tour of Raglan Surfboard Co. Advice on selecting the proper surfing equipment.

The Karioi Camp
• The students are housed at the beautiful Karioi Outdoor center which is located at the base of Mt. Karioi in Whale Bay, Raglan. The camp can accommodate up to 50 individuals.
• Meals are provided for by our trained Chefs. The BBQ's are legendary. As a part of the camp experience students are taught the proper preparation and cooking methods of fresh foods.

Additional Camp Recreational Activities
• Confidence course located on the grounds of Karioi Camp. Direct access to native bush walks. Mountaineering on Mt. Karioi
• Arrangements can be made for other activities i.e. Horse trekking, Tour of Bridal Veil Falls, Scenic Raglan Harbour Tour and Fishing Boat Charters.

Costs
• Costs for the Camps vary and are based on the number of students and services requested and provided for. The Raglan Surfing School will work individually with your institution to form a program to fit your budget. As an example for a group of twenty students for a Day Camp which includes lecture, equipment hire, surf lessons and lunch …. $69 + gst !! Or for a complete overnight fully supervised package including all meals and activities for a group of twenty students… $99 + gst/ day !!!
Transportation can be arranged by RSS.
